Introduction to Medical Terminology
Gain a solid foundation for understanding terminology used in medical records and documentation across healthcare settings.
This 45-hour class is ideal for current ESL students (Levels 4-6) who need English language support before enrolling in a medical training program. Classroom attendance is mandatory but students may work independently to complete the course faster.
Students will learn:
- Basics of medical terminology
- Medical word parts and combining forms
- Classification and description of diseases and conditions
- Medical abbreviations, symbols, and time conventions

Math for Trade Occupations
Master the math skills needed to succeed in building, manufacturing, and healthcare trades.
This 45-hour class is ideal for current ESL students (Levels 4-6) who need English language support before enrolling in a building, manufacturing, or medical program. Classroom attendance is mandatory but students may work independently to complete the course faster.
Students will learn:
- Core math concepts such as measurements, calculations, and problem-solving that are crucial for accurate and efficient work
- Real-world applications tailored to each trade so learners will develop the confidence to handle calculations needed for projects, from site layouts to wiring, piping, and system installations
- Proportions and ratios used in building, manufacturing, and medical careers
